Skip one meal.
Take one action.

Food Insecurity affects children, seniors, veterans, students, and working families in communities throughout Kern County. It often means facing impossible choices between groceries, rent, medicine, transportation, and utilities. The Empty Plate Challenge is a symbolic act of solidarity. Participants voluntarily skip one meal during Hunger Action Month, then turn that moment into action by giving, serving, learning, advocating, or sharing. Three Simple Steps, One County-wide Movement
