Private Seat on CAPK Board

Community Action Partnership of Kern (CAPK) is seeking qualified applicants to serve in an open Private Sector seat on its Governing Board of Directors. CAPK is the designated Community Action Agency for Kern County, serving over 136,000 residents annually through a broad network of programs focused on reducing poverty and promoting self-sufficiency.

The CAPK Board is a 15-member tri-partite body composed of public officials, low-income community representatives, and private sector leaders. Private Sector Board Members provide critical leadership, oversight, and community perspective, helping guide agency policy, approve programs and budgets, and support CAPK’s mission and strategic direction. Board Members serve on at least one standing committee and participate in monthly meetings. Local travel and childcare reimbursement is available for CAPK-related business.

We’re thrilled to offer free Zumba classes to the community, creating a lively and inclusive space for fitness enthusiasts of all levels. From 11 am to 12 pm, our skilled Zumba instructor will guide you through dynamic routines that combine dance and exercise, ensuring a fun and effective workout. Whether you’re a seasoned Zumba enthusiast or trying it out for the first time, everyone is welcome! Bring your friends and family to share in the joy of movement and wellness. Let’s dance our way to a healthier, happier community together!
