CAPK’s CalFresh Healthy Living Program with community partners has a focus on nutrition and physical activity education to bring access to healthy eating and active lifestyles across Kern County. The CalFresh Healthy Living Program offers nutrition classes that will give you tools for creating easy healthy recipes, how to read nutrition labels, and provide physical activities for you and your family to enjoy anytime.
CAPK CalFresh Healthy Living improves the nutrition health of low-income Californians by providing access to nutrition education, physical activity, education, and leadership towards healthy community initiatives.

Our Nutrition Pantry Program (NPP) works with food pantries across Kern County. Using Leah’s Pantry guidelines we train pantries on additional ways to support client and community-centered food distributions. NPP focuses on the following seven areas: Client Feedback, Community Connections, Nutrition Education, Environment, Inventory and Waste Reduction, Cultural and Dietary Accommodations, Policies and Procedures. Extending beyond our NPP program we host a Kern County Food Pantry Collaborative bringing all pantries from Kern County together to share stories and resources. If you are interested in joining these efforts reach out to us at calfresh@capk.org
