The Central Kitchen operates the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), a federally funded program that provides meals and snacks served to children in child care settings. The Central Kitchen plans, prepares, delivers food and janitorial supplies to all child development centers operated by CAPK\u2019s Head Start\/State Child Development Division.\u00a0 The program also prepares meals for Head Start field trips and social events.<\/p>\n

Nutritious and safely prepared breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks are provided, depending on the program each child is attending.\u00a0 The Central Kitchen provides special meals to accommodate food allergies and diets for children with special dietary needs.\u00a0 The menus incorporate a variety of cultural and ethnic preferences, they are designed to provide children with a broader food experience.\u00a0The Central Kitchen\u2019s menus comply with Head Start requirements and CACFP guidelines. The Central Kitchen receives input from the children, parents, staff, and community members at the Nutrition Advisory Committee meetings.<\/p>\n
