Welcome to Kern’s Housing for the Harvest Program

The new Housing for the Harvest provides temporary hotel housing assistance for agricultural and food processing workers so they can self-isolate if they are COVID-19 positive or have been exposed to the virus and cannot properly self-isolate at home.
If you or someone you know has tested positive for COVID-19 or has been asked to self-isolate at home, you may be able to receive quarantine support. You are not alone during this difficult time.

By staying in a hotel away from others, you can protect your family and your co-workers from getting COVID-19.

Quarantine support includes:

  • A hotel room for up to 14 days, you will not be asked to provide a credit card
  • 3 Free meals per day delivered to your hotel room
  • Free transportation
  • Free wellness checks
  • Financial assistance

You won’t be asked for your immigration status.

Who qualifies?

  • Must work in California food processing or agriculture
  • Have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed and have been asked to self-isolate
  • Be unable to self-isolate or quarantine at home

Background:
Slowing the spread of the virus is up to all of us. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, agricultural workers have played an essential role in ensuring the continuity of our food supply. As the community-wide transmission of COVID-19 increases, some farmworkers and food processing employees who are either COVID-19 positive or are exposed are finding it difficult to self-isolate due to their housing situation. The goal of the Housing for the Harvest program is to provide shelter for essential employees in the food and agriculture sector to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Please call 2-1-1 to secure your room today.
