CAPK Governing Board Recruitment

Two seats are open for the May 2022 election to the Community Action Partnership of Kern Governing Board. This 15-member public board directs the operations of CAPK and its 17 programs in pursuit of the agency’s mission to “address the underlying causes of poverty, alleviate the effects, and promote dignity and self-sufficiency in the communities we serve.”
Currently CAPK is accepting applications for election to the low-income representative seats in Metropolitan Bakersfield and Southern Kern County.
Nominees for these positions must meet the following basic requirements:
• Must be a resident of the district you will represent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be either a low-income resident as identified by the federal poverty level index or represent a low-income population.
