CAPK’s AmeriCorps program, Kern Youth Making a Change, connects AmeriCorps mentors and role models with students in Bakersfield, Arvin, and Lamont who need positive role models. AmeriCorps staff also identify critical needs in low-income communities and mobilize solutions.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, AmeriCorps volunteers and staff stepped up to the front lines to help distribute food to hungry individuals and families throughout Kern County.
