Laurie Hughey, Program Manager

Under the CAPK Homeless Services Program, Laurie will oversee day-to-day operations of all Center programs and services located at M Street. She brings over 20 years experience in management and working with diverse populations. Laurie has a BA in Applied Behavior Science. She enjoys reading, dancing, traveling and hanging out with her grandson.

 

Jon Flores, Operations Supervisor

Jon brings over 10 years of experience in security/customer service and relations to his position, with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He will be responsible for the day-to-day operations at the M Street Navigation Center, including security, kitchen operations and meal distribution, supply inventory, shelter beds, personal care and laundry operations. Jon enjoys reading, traveling, gardening and being outdoors.

 

Rebecca Moreno, Program Services Supervisor

Rebecca has worked with the homeless population for 4 years and has 10 years of case management experience. She oversees the Coordinated Entry System (CES) at Community Action Partnership of Kern (CAPK) and chairs the CES committee as part of the Bakersfield-Kern Regional Homeless Collaborative. Rebecca will oversee housing and case management services for the clients at the M Street Navigation Center.

Good Neighbor Policy

The M Street Navigation Center strives to be a positive member of the surrounding neighborhood and community while providing quality services to end homelessness.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, center operations will  not open to the general public at this time. Appropriate health and safety protocols will be followed to protect overnight residents, walk-in clients, staff and others.
