PURPOSE

To distribute USDA Surplus Commodities and emergency food provided by public and private donations, to households who are in need of food assistance because of inadequate household income. To help alleviate hunger in Kern County by providing supplemental feeding programs such as the Senior Brown Bag Program.

SERVICES AVAILABLE

There are monthly distributions of surplus governmental foods, homebound deliveries to shut-ins seniors and the disabled. Participants must meet the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) maximum income guidelines.
