The WIC program serves pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to 5 years old in low income families. WIC provides free, supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and education and other support services. What is WIC and Who Can It Help?

Community Action Partnership of Kern’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program is help is for:

  • Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or just had a baby
  • Children under 5 years old (including foster children)
  • Families with low to medium income (working families may qualify)

Who can enroll?

WIC-2

Generally, WIC is available to:

  • low income pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women;
  • Grandparents, dads, and foster parents can enroll!;
  • low income parent or guardian who is the sole provider of children under age five who are at nutritional risk and who are at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level. See income guidelines.
