    Early Head Start Teacher

    The EHS Teacher will provide services in the care, supervision, development, and instruction of infants and/or toddlers in a child development program. Responsible for the respectful care, educational, intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of each child in a classroom in accordance with approved curriculum, Early Head Start policies philosophy, and OHS Performance Standards. Must possess and maintain a valid California Associate Teacher Permit or a Teacher’s Permit; Must possess six units of infant/toddler coursework from any accredited college or university; Associate or Bachelor’s degree, with six units of infant/toddler coursework, from any accredited college or university with major in one of the following: Early Childhood Development, Education, Human Development or related field is highly desired; Experience working in a State or Federally Funded Child Care Program is desirable. Bilingual language fluency (Spanish/English) highly desirable. Must be fingerprinted and have such records filed with the State Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing. Must have a valid California Driver’s License and State automobile insurance and acceptable driving record substantiated by a DMV printout. $16.11/hr. – $20.62/hr. depending on education. + benefits.     Early Head Start Assistant Teacher

    Along with the teacher, provide a safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate, educational and supervised environment for children 0-3 years of age. Encourage parent involvement in all aspects of the program. To promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of children. Must have three units in infant/toddler coursework and must obtain another three units within 12 months of hire as part of an established educational plan. At least six months of classroom experience working with infant/toddlers in a child care setting is highly desirable. Bilingual language fluency (Spanish/English) highly desirable. Must be fingerprinted and have such records filed with the State Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing. $12.43/hr. + benefits. Open until filled.
