VITA - Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
The VITA program is a year round program that provides free tax preparation services to low to moderate income individuals, family and seniors. We are open year round and can e-file a return until October 15th of each year.
Our VITA program is mainly operated by volunteers. Our site coordinator/manager oversees the program and the volunteers. Each year the volunteers are trained and certified to prepare tax returns.
IDA - Individual Development Account
The IDA program is a 2 to 1 savings match program and is asset based. You must attend an orientation, complete an application, and be income qualified for this program.
Accepted participants then attend 10 financial education classes, 4 life skills elective classes and 5 asset specific classes.
Participants also start saving a pre-determined amount of money for 18 – 24 months. A participant can save up to $2000.00 and will be matched on the amount saved up to this limit.
Once a participant has saved their money and completed all required components to the program, they can then purchase their asset. The eligible assets are: first time home purchase, starting a small business or secondary education
