HIV Prevention/Testing

The HIV Prevention and Testing Services program targets and outreaches to high risk substance abuse clients in recovery through the methadone maintenance, residential and outpatient programs contracted with the Kern County Department of Mental Health’s Substance Abuse System of Care.

The program does group risk reduction education and administers individual HIV testing and results using oral swab collection test kits. These services are scheduled and followed up by our program staff as appropriate for each individual site.
