The Community Action Partnership of Kern needs your support!
CAPK is always looking for community support for our many life-changing programs. There are several ways to get involved from volunteering, to attending a fundraising event, to making a donation—helping CAPK is easy and rewarding!
Board of Director Position
The Board of Directors are responsible for determining program policies, plans and priorities, evaluating progress against performance, approving all program proposals and budgets, and enforcing compliance with all grant conditions. CAPK is governed by a volunteer tri-partite board of directors comprised of 15 representatives: five from the public sector, five low-income representatives, and five from the private sector/community. We are recruiting for one (1) position on an unpaid, all-volunteer Board:
**Private Sector Representative (Kern County): an individual from business, industry, civic, welfare, and/or social service organizations.

CAPK has many different programs and volunteer opportunities including the Food Bank, doing taxes at VITA and volunteering with children at Head Start or Shafter Youth Center. Please fill out our Volunteer Form.

Attend, Sponsor or Donate to our Banquet
CAPK’s Annual Humanitarian Awards Banquet & Fundraiser is a way for us to recognize the efforts and contributions of local Champions in Community Action in the categories of Humanitarian of the Year, Community Partner of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. It is also a way for CAPK to raise funds to support our youth, family, financial empowerment and nutrition programs. You, or your corporation or group, can participate by attending our Banquet, becoming a sponsor (there are opportunities ranging from the $300 (small ad) to the $20,000 (Platinum) level), or helping us spread the word.
